We have been blaming and rightfully condemning Hamas for what is in their charter. Much before that, the Israeli leaders have said similar things about the Palestinians. It isn't very comfortable to read these comments from Ben Gurion to Gold Meir to Ariel Sharon to Netanyahu. 

These were the stances of Hamas in reaction to what Ben Gurion and others had said before their charter to expel Jews from the River Jordan and the Mediterranean.

 It is time for a cease-fire and for the parties to sit down and talk to find peace. If we want peace, we must talk. 

Netanyahu is ready to kill 6 million Palestinians to achieve his dream of Eretz Israel. It is a nightmare for Jews. He is putting the Jews in a long-term insecurity. This man has no feelings and no empathy. He is a cold-blooded murderer, just like the Hamas leader, who is also a cold-blooded murderer – two of them are dangerous to Jews and Palestinians.

I hope the Jews around the world will wake up and fix the world for their good. PM Netanyahu's actions and United States vetoes at the United Nations will increase anti-Semitism around the world. Once again, the United Nations called for the ceasefire resolution, and all nations supported it except the US and Israel. It is like slapping the 196 countries in their faces, and their resentment towards Israel is natural. It is not Anti-Semitism. It is sheer resentment.

I do my share of the work to fight Antisemitism, as I do other hate ideologies.

Israel's security hinges on the security of the Palestinians. Are there any leaders with wisdom among the Israelis? 

By the way, those of you who are eager to jump to conclusions, I have condemned Hamas for the massacre of nearly 1500 Israeli civilians without any holdback and similarly condemned the Israeli massacre of over 3000 Palestinians.

This language of negation of Palestinian existence and blatant disregard to the very humanity of the Palestinian people is perhaps the most dangerous aspect of Israeli and Zionist policies.

Perhaps, the most significant aim of this document is to draw attention to the futility of this discourse. It is imperative that political leaders and prominent figures in any society promote principles of mutual respect, tolerance, and humanism, in order to nurture a more constructive outlook.

ABOUT HAMAS

My Jewish friend: "They stand for Palestinian rights, but their actions contradict their words." I could not agree more. Their charter calls for eliminating the Jewish people, which is unacceptable.

Israeli leaders have said similar things; here is one from Ben Gurion, "When we have settled the land, all the Arabs will be able to do about it will be to scurry around like drugged cockroaches in a bottle." Raphael Eitan, Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defence Forces, New York Times, 14 April 1983. I believe Golda Meir and Sharon also have said derogatory words about the Palestinians.

Leaders take these stances to keep their flock bound to them. Shame on them to resort to that kind of rhetoric. We should not take the literal meaning of it. People change.

Philip: "They (the PLO) changed their charter to recognize Israel, gained diplomatic legitimacy, and transformed into a (very imperfect) government, today’s Palestinian Authority in the West Bank.”

George Bush may be the worst president in our history. Besides committing the genocide of Iraqis and Afghans, he refused to accept the democratically elected Hamas. He called on a conference in Annapolis in 2006 to discuss the future of Israel and Palestine - and excluded them. Had he included them, they would not have felt alienated and resorted to childish fits. If they were on the table with the other two, we would have had a chance to go in the right direction. Have you ever felt excluded by fellow employees or in family gatherings?

Recognizing and inviting them to a conversation in Qatar or any acceptable place is never too late, provided we guarantee their safety. What is our loss? Not doing so gives us no chance, but including them gives us a slight chance.

It is worth taking the risk for the long-term security of Jews and Palestinians. Killing each other gets us nowhere, but killing more.
